Best Car Upgrades – Ahead of the planned 2019 market introduction, the Terrafugia flying car maker announced several new features on Monday at EAA AirVenture for its Transition production vehicle. The increase will also be attached to company test vehicles and on display at this week’s event.
In drive mode, Transition will now operate as a hybrid, using a combination of internal combustion engine and lithium-iron-phosphate batteries, one of the safest lithium battery chemistry. The security system also received upgrades with improved seat belts, airbags, and three rear view cameras in driving mode. The BRS Partner will provide a full-frame parachute for the vehicle.

Dynon provides electric flight information systems (EFIS), and the Transition throttle incorporates a “thrust” feature for short bursts of extra power while flying. The cabin interior also receives a makeover, with upgraded seats, increased luggage capacity, and an intuitive user interface.
“Developing this new technology has allowed us to test several different mechanisms and generate process improvements along the way,” explains Terrafugia CEO Chris Jaran. “We are at a critical point where we can apply the best design features based on aviation and drive testing. This will improve functionality, security, and aesthetics for optimal flying and driving experience. ”
In view of its multiple functions, the Transition shall comply with the FAA and National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards. The company says that many new features will allow the vehicle to achieve this.
